I was giving an English class for the SPEAK! program at my campus and I showed this video:
Why Can’t We Be Friends- Smash Mouth
We discussed the video and concluded that no matter the differences, people can still be friends and enjoy life together. Also, that arguments are stupid and can be easier to solve with friendship.
I encourage you to watch it and get inspired.
Remember that the best way to have a friend is to be one.
This is not a secret. This is not confidential material. This is something that I find disrespectful.
People judge different people as if it were their hobby. They make cruel comments about them. Does this help them be better people? Does this increases their self-esteem? Here’s my advice to those people that choose a particular group to make fun of, such as Down Syndrome kids, women, and homeless people.
I say don’t judge a book by it’s cover, dare to open it and read its story.
I say, don’t say mean things, encourage them to improve for the best.
I say, don’t reject them, accept their uniqueness.
I say, don’t laugh at them, laugh WITH them.
I say, dont be rude, help them.
I say don’t insult them, dare to live a day in their shoes.
If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
Remember to show R-E-S-P-E-C-T next time you see someone like that.
Peace and Love!
